The George Mason University Department of Statistics  welcomed eight new faculty members in 2020 – 2021, who are internationally recognized experts.

Assistant Professor Weiwen Jiang receives the 2021 Donald O. Pederson Best Paper Award.

Civil engineering student found her current job working on-site at the U.S. Capitol complex through an internship with Christman Company.

Shima Mohebbi, assistant professor in the College of Engineering and Computing at George Mason University, together with researchers from universities across the country received a $1.6 million grant from NSF on Conservation Incentives and the Socio-Spatial Dynamics of Water Sustainability. Work during the project will include examining cooperative behavior among water users and developing water conservation incentives.

Kirin Furst believes a systems approach is the best way to solve the world’s safe water problems. Her research lab is primarily focused on removing organic contaminants in drinking water systems and potable reuse systems.

Break Through Tech peer leaders help provide support to students—especially females and those from underrepresented communities—-- pursuing computer science, engineering, and information technology degrees at George Mason University.

Research Interests: Mechanisms and functions underlying the formation of memory and memory-guided navigation with a focus on the septohippocampal brain circuitry

With the support of a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Mason researchers Vivian Motti and Anya Evmenova have developed a smartwatch application that will help improve the daily lives of young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
