University Commencement

George Mason University holds commencement on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 10 a.m., in the EagleBank Arena. Doctoral students will be hooded, and their names read as they cross the stage. Bachelor's and Master's students WILL NOT be individually recognized at University Commencement but will stand with others by major. The university website has more information about Commencement.

CEC Degree Celebrations

The College of Engineering and Computing will hold two Degree Celebrations this year, one for the School of Computing and one for the Volgenau School of Engineering. During the degree celebration, the names of graduating students are read as they cross the stage.

Students are congratulated by the dean and department chair and have their pictures taken by a professional photographer. The events will feature guest speakers. Both events will be at EagleBank Arena.

Tickets and Security

All guests attending the Degree Celebrations in EagleBank Arena will require a ticket. Digital ticketing will utilize the EagleBank Arena ticketing system. 

Please note: Guests without a Degree Celebration seating ticket for EagleBank Arena can watch a live stream of the ceremony in Dewberry Hall in the Johnson Center. No tickets are required. 

 All individuals attending graduation ceremonies, including graduates, faculty, staff, and guests will be subject to security screening.
