Welcome CEC Alumni!

With a community of over 32,000 alumni, the College of Engineering and Computing Alumni Chapter is committed to strengthening ties among our graduates. We offer a variety of programs and networking opportunities that allow alumni to share their unique insights and experiences. Feel free to review our latest alumni report. 

Our goal is to foster connections among alumni, students, faculty, staff, and the broader community. We actively support scholarship initiatives, encourage the professional growth of students and alumni, and cultivate pride and dedication to George Mason University. The chapter is led by a Board of Directors elected by alumni, with officers serving two-year terms.  

Ways to Engage: Networking and More

Throughout the year, the Alumni Chapter hosts networking events in Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, Washington, D.C., and cities nationwide. There are also numerous other ways to get involved: 

  • Mentor current students 

  • Recruit and hire fellow alumni and students 

  • Support key fundraising initiatives 

  • Establish a scholarship for deserving students 

  • Organize social events and mixers

Am I a member of the chapter?

Once you graduate with a College of Engineering and Computing degree you are automatically a member of the CEC Alumni Chapter. 

How do I get involved?

You can run for a position on the chapter board or you can join as a Friend of the Board. Friends of the Board participate in chapter meetings and attend events. If you are interested, please email eglass4@gmu.edu with your headshot and a 150-word bio for consideration. 

We also have volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Sign up with our volunteer form if you are interested. 

How much does membership cost?

Membership is free. 

Why should I join the CEC Alumni Chapter?

Your participation will develop a closer fellowship between alumni, students, faculty, staff, and the community. It is also a great way to give back to the Mason community. We encourage support for scholarships, promote professional development of students and alumni, and foster a sense of pride and commitment to the University. 

What kind of events does the chapter host?

Open to all 32,000+ alumni, the chapter hosts regional and industry related networking events, our annual Whiskey and Widgets, and welcome events for new CEC graduates.
