Fast-Track Graduate Admissions

Fast-Track Admissions provide qualifying students the opportunity to accelerate through the application and review process with fewer application materials. The College of Engineering and Computing offers the following options: Alumni Fast-Track for CEC graduates and Corporate Fast-Track for employees of our corporate partners.

Alumni Fast-Track Admissions

Eligibility
  • CEC alumni who graduated from one of our bachelor's programs with a 3.00 or better overall GPA.
  • Current CEC undergraduates within one semester of graduation with a 3.00 or better GPA. A final 3.00 GPA in the bachelor's degree must be confirmed prior to graduate registration.
Application Requirements
  • Prior to submitting an application, confirm your eligibility by sending an email to cecgrad@gmu.edu with the subject line "Fast- Track" and include your name and Mason ID/G Number in the body of the email. If you do not recall your Mason ID, please use your name and include your Mason graduation degree and program name (ex: Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science). Eligibility is verified via email within three business days along with instructions on waiving materials.
  • Applicants who qualify for Fast-Track will receive the recommendation letter waiver if applying to a graduate program that requires them.
Restrictions
  • Fast-track applicants are subject to all admissions deadlines; no exceptions.
  • Applicants are not granted automatic admission, nor are students granted special consideration beyond the reduction of required materials at the time of application.
  • Alumni fast-track admissions are available only for CEC master's degree programs.
Master's Degree Options
  • Review CEC master's degree program requirements below, as some master’s programs require specific prerequisite courses.
