The first Volgenau School of Engineering Undergraduate Research Celebration will be held on April 24 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mason Inn. The competition aims to showcase all types of research, design, and scholarly work, individual or group projects, and serves as a great opportunity for VSE students to exhibit their research to the entire Mason community.
Representatives from local employers will be on hand to judge competition entries, but the event will also feature a special ‘People's Choice Award' voted on by all attendees. Cash prizes of $250 will be awarded for the five most outstanding projects. Presenters of winning projects will be invited to participate in the Mason's 2014 Celebration of Student Scholarship on May 6, and their work will be displayed in the Nguyen Engineering Building.
Only VSE students can present at the celebration, but attendance at the event is open to everyone.
