- July 28, 2022College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) Professor Janis Terpenny has joined the National Science Foundation Division of Civil, Mechanical and Manufacturing Innovation (CMMI) where she will serve in the expert role and lead in the creation of CMMI’s Manufacturing System Integration program.

- June 29, 2022The U.S. government added the China Academy of Science – Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), to its "Entity List," effective June 30, 2022. This action prohibits exports of any items, technology, or software that is subject to the U.S. export administration regulations.

- June 21, 2022Long-time faculty member and associate chair of the Department of Systems Engineering and Operations Research, Andrew (Andy) Loerch passed away June 16 after an unexpected and brief battle with cancer. Loerch had just retired on May 24, 2022 after 22 years of service to George Mason University.
