Biography

Khondkar Islam’s many years of work experience for organizations such as NASA and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security have brought him into the classroom where he is preparing the next generation of cyber security experts. As Volgenau’s networking course program coordinator, Islam plans a forward-thinking educational strategy based on his professional experience with pathways and innovation in network engineering and cyber security. He is also the director of the Virtual Academy and Cisco Academy at George Mason University, and directs a significant amount of time and research to improving educational value for engineering students. His further research includes distributed peer-to-peer network architecture for content delivery and exchange over limited capacity networks.
