Biography
Foteini Baldimtsi has taught at George Mason University since 2016. Baldimtsi's research interests are cryptography, privacy, and data security. She focuses on designing provably secure cryptographic schemes for a variety of applications such as privacy-preserving identity management, secure electronic payments, and private and scalable blockchain systems. She is a recipient of an NSF CAREER award, an IBM faculty award, a Google faculty award, a Facebook faculty award and various more research grants from industry and research organizations including NSF, NSA, DHS and CCI. She maintains active collaborations with industry leaders in the blockchain and technology sectors, including advisory roles with research and engineering teams at Mysten Labs and a16z Crypto.
