Biography

Abolfazl Safikhani is an assistant professor in the Department of Statistics at George Mason University. He received his PhD from the Department of Statistics and Probability at Michigan State University. Prior to joining George Mason, he held research positions at Columbia University and the University of Florida.

His research interests include network modeling, high-dimensional statistics, statistical machine learning, spatio-temporal models, transfer learning, change point detection, and their applications in neuroscience, urban planning, and smart cities. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Safikhani currently serves as an associate editor for "Technometrics", "Statistica Sinica", and "Data Science in Science."
