George Mason University has partnered with the Hyderabad Institute of Technology and Management (HITAM) in India to create an accelerated bachelor’s/master’s or Integrated Twinning Program in Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering. Participating students will earn a bachelor’s degree through HITAM and a master’s degree from George Mason in five years rather than the standard six.

Students will study and fulfill the program requirements in both countries, completing the first three years of their undergraduate degree at HITAM and then transferring to George Mason to finish their final year of undergraduate studies, followed by a year of graduate studies. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive the following degrees:
-
Bachelor’s degree from HITAM
-
Master’s degree from George Mason
Admissions
Application
HITAM will recruit students separately for this program, and those students will apply as transfer undergraduate degree-seeking students to George Mason in their third year (of a four-year program). Students are required to submit official transcripts and proof of English language proficiency.
Eligibility:
-
Students should have completed their 10+2 (or equivalent) with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as core subjects, with a preferred minimum score of 75%. Additionally, a preferred score of 75% or higher is required in one of the following entrance exams: JEE Mains, any state-level common entrance exam for engineering, BITSAT, other national or international engineering entrance exams, or SAT.
-
The medium of instruction in both 10th and 10+2 should have been English.
Students accepted to the program will initially be admitted to George Mason as undergraduate degree-seeking students. Upon conferral of the HITAM program degree and admission into the program, students will be considered for graduate degree-seeking status upon submission of their BAM transition form and successful completion of the HITAM Program undergraduate degree.
Students interested in participating in the program should contact HITAM’s program coordinator, Mr. : Bandi, for more details.

Admission
Upon notification of undergraduate admission to George Mason, students must submit an online Accelerated Master’s application for the specific program being pursued. Students must submit an unofficial HITAM transcript to indicate the minimum number of credits that have been completed to be officially accepted to the Accelerated Master’s program.
Acceptance
Students will be notified in writing of undergraduate admission to George Mason. George Mason will send program application decisions, which are contingent on students’ final spring or fall grades at HITAM, for admission into the fall or spring semester of the term in which they hope to enroll.
Notification of acceptance to the Accelerated Master’s program will be in writing and is contingent on the successful submission of the Accelerated Master’s application and materials.
Undergraduate policies apply to the student while in undergraduate degree status. Once matriculated to the master’s program, students are subject to all graduate academic policies.
Students are responsible for requesting their transcripts from each party and providing them to the other institution as required. George Mason cannot request student transcripts directly from another institution, nor can it provide them without a student request.
Enrollment beyond the first semester in any graduate program requires official transcripts showing degree conferral from all previously earned degrees, including undergraduate bachelor’s degrees and higher, and any graduate coursework that the student wishes to apply to the degree program.
International students have additional requirements that must be met. Information regarding those requirements can be found here.
Tuition and Fees
Students are assessed the undergraduate tuition rate while in undergraduate status and the graduate tuition rate while in graduate status.
Financial Aid
Students are eligible to receive financial assistance provided by George Mason for both the undergraduate and graduate years. International students are not eligible for Federal Financial Aid.
George Mason University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.
